I recently came across a reference to former German BR 52 class locomotives (2-10-0 steam) being delivered to Vietnam after WWII. I have several photos of what could be those locomotives (class T3?) taken in VN.

However another list of the disposal of BR 52's doesn't mention VN. Could they have come via the USSR?

They look the same, so does anyone know if they are the same? If so were they only used on Standard Gauge, as they were quite big? Axle load would be a problem on metre gauge I would imagine.

The 'bucket' tenders (German name) look very similar to those used on 141 and 231 class as well.
